Now in its 10th year, ITB CHINA has established itself as the leading international exhibition for the tourism industry in China. We are seeking a high-caliber candidate to join our international team as MARKETING MANAGER based in Shanghai with the following qualifications:

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of work experience in the exhibition industry with an organizer or related service provider;
  • A minimum bachelor’s degree level education;
  • Marketing and visitor-promotion experience in international exhibitions is a plus;
  • Good knowledge and experience in the use of marketing and design-related software as well as general office tools;
  • Good sense of photo and video editing skillset;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese are prerequisites;
  • Highly advantageous if you have:
    • Good copywriting skills;
    • Experience in running online and social media promotion campaigns such as SEO optimization, Google Analytics, AdWords, and LinkedIn campaigns;
    • Strong relationships with agencies, freelancers, and vendors.
  • Personal skills: excellent team collaboration mindset, ability to work in a multinational environment, affinity to work in virtual teams, high level of maturity, diplomatic communication and negotiation skills, ability to handle time-sensitive tasks, excellent attention to detail, affinity towards software-based work tools, and a flexible, service-oriented, customer-focused working style.

Job Description

The main duties and responsibilities of the Marketing Manager include, without being limited to:

  • Create and implement an integrated marketing strategy for the entire exhibition including exhibitor, conference, and visitor promotion;
  • Hold overall responsibility for the development and execution of ITB China’s marketing and communication plan;
  • Ensure show websites (English and Chinese) and social media channels are fully up to date with the latest information;
  • Plan, manage, and monitor online and social media campaigns;
  • Lead and manage the drafting, design, and distribution of all ITB China–related press releases and newsletters;
  • Identify appropriate media partners and associations and negotiate barter deals to maximize event exposure;
  • Formulate media plans and set up media deals with external organizations to ensure maximum exposure at the lowest cost to the show budget;
  • Lead and manage the design and production of all digital and printed marketing collateral, including sales brochures, visitor flyers, badges, posters, print advertisements, web banners/email banners, etc.;
  • Hold overall responsibility for the production of official show videos, photos, and related duties, including onsite planning and management of photo and video vendors;
  • Hold overall responsibility for onsite press attendance management, including media kit preparation, media preview event organization, trade press stand handling, and related duties;
  • Support the sales department in implementing a series of sales presentations and/or roadshows to raise awareness of the brand in both Chinese and international markets;
  • Create cost forecasts, update and adhere to the agreed marketing budget;
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insights, and assess results against goals.

Working location: Shanghai, China

Working day/Hour: Full-time job, Monday through Friday from 9:30am – 6:30pm
